People are fucking stupid.
I have a friend, long time friend. She has an autistic brother. Seriously, I love him; whilst eating dinner with her family I had this awesome conversation with him about Pokemon, that ended with both of us quoting Team Rocket “we’re blasting off agaaaaaaaaain…*ding*”. This morning he realised it was February and jumped up and said “It’s february! The countdown for my birthday begins! Awwwwhhhh hell yeeeahhhhhh!” leaving his mum and I laughing.
But of course. He’s autistic, so deemed unacceptable. He’s in year 8, and as if secondary school isn’t hard enough, with all the trying to fit in and and have friends, it’s a thousand times harder for him. He’s been bullied ever since he set foot in this school. His sister has interferred numerous times, me often close behind her. But it’s just so fucking ridiculous. Why do they do that? Theres no point to it, no reason, and it’s sick to realise these people get joy from taunting him. My friend has told me that he doesn’t know any better, he thinks they’re his friends and that its all a big joke. He plays those computer games, so he tries to reason with violence. Earlier today at breaktime, I was sat on a bench with my friend. It wasn’t untill a few minutes after when I saw him walking away from a group of year 8’s, the most stuck up fucking year in the entire school, then I realised that they’d been making fun again; literally they bait him like he’s a fucking dog or circus act. A boy in my year then spoke to him, a smug smirk on his face; he turned around and saw me, acted like it was all a joke, which led to me yelling at him.
It’s just so wrong. Why do people feel the need to victimise and destroy these people? I hate it so much, and I’m not even the one who has to live with it. I can’t even imagine what him, or his family have to go through, and it’s all the time. It isn’t funny, it isn’t brave, it isn’t smart. It’s pathetic. He told his mum something that somes up this whole problem in a single sentance; “Everyones mean to me. If they don’t, they’re not cool.” It’s true; I remember year 7, there was a girl, and she moved schools because we were all so viciously mean. It’s just not even funny, yet these groups of people who cluster around him are busy laughing their heads off, trying to make him lose it. It’s so, so cruel. And it happens ALL the time. I hate people so much. -
